• You have gas service and like gas heat — a furnace delivers hotter supply air (the "toasty vent" feeling), and it doesn't care how cold the rare hard freeze gets
• Your furnace is younger than your AC — furnaces routinely outlive air conditioners here, since they work a fraction of the hours; replacing only the cooling side can be the rational, budget-smart move
• All-electric resilience concerns you — some homeowners want fuel diversity during winter storm events, though a properly sized heat pump with electric backup heat handles our climate fine in normal operation

What about dual-fuel — the both/and option?
